Happy New Year and welcome to 2022. The Kubernetes space continues to explode, and I thought I’d share a shortlist of some companies that I’ll be keeping an eye on this year.
Kubernetes brings some challenges to developers. They need to learn some new concepts, how they connect to each other, and most importantly, how to develop applications using a Kubernetes cluster.
I was recently on a YouTube stream explaining jsPolicy, an open source project for managing policies in Kubernetes clusters that we maintain at Loft Labs. CEO Lukas Gentele joined me, and our host was Saiyam Pathak.
In this series, we’re looking at alternatives to using Docker Compose for building apps that run in Kubernetes clusters. While Compose is a handy way to stand up apps locally, there are advantages to running your apps in a Kubernetes environment while you develop.
Kubernetes now runs in more than 70 percent of container environments. Monitoring has become a key way to extract as much information as possible during container runtime.
Headlamp is an open source web UI for Kubernetes created by the team at Kinvolk, which was recently acquired by Microsoft. It’s a great-looking alternative to the built-in Kubernetes Dashboard.
Loft Labs CEO Lukas Gentele joined Saiyam Pathak on his stream to talk about vcluster. This video is another great way to get up to speed on vlcuster if you’ve heard about it and are curious.
Command-line tools like kubectl are a great way to interact with Kubernetes clusters for some of us, but many people prefer a graphical interface. Kubernetes has a built-in dashboard, but some people are looking for features that it doesn’t support.
San Francisco - Loft Labs, which enables any organization to scale self-service access to Kubernetes to hundreds or even thousands of engineers, today announced that the latest version v0.
Nearly everyone touching cloud infrastructure in 2021 is familiar with the Kubernetes project. Put simply, Kubernetes is an incredibly powerful platform for container orchestration. But in my opinion, Kubernetes, more than anything, is a collection of best practices baked into a system that can scale from a Raspberry Pi up to the largest Fortune 500 infrastructure.
Running a virtual cluster inside a Kubernetes cluster is cool, but running a virtual cluster inside a virtual cluster is some real inception. Watch this YouTube video to see how you can do this with our open source virtual cluster tool called vcluster, or read the transcript below if you prefer.
What makes developers happy and productive? If you talk to people who work in the tech industry, they will likely all have opinions on it, but there’s no clear, shared definition of developer productivity.
San Francisco - Loft Labs, which makes Kubernetes easily accessible to developers, today announced that vcluster, a first-of-its-kind virtual cluster technology for Kubernetes, is now freely available on GitHub and on www.
