About Loft Labs

We are a venture-backed tech startup in hyper growth phase. Our headquarters are in San Francisco (Salesforce Tower) but our team is distributed across 8 timezones and we have a remote-first work culture similar to GitLab, Zapier or Stripe.

Our commercial product Loft (www.loft.sh) helps platform teams create a self-service system for virtual Kubernetes clusters using our vcluster technology. This has two major benefits: 1) It creates autonomy for developers and allows companies to build high-velocity engineering teams; and 2) It improves efficiency for running cloud native applications which can save over 70% of cloud computing cost for our customers.

We are generating revenue and growing extremely fast with a customer base that includes some of the biggest companies in the world (car manufacturers, Fortune 100 financial institutions) and some of the fastest growing tech unicorns.

About This Role

This first technical sales hire will capture a huge opportunity to make an immediate impact on both their own professional growth as well as the overall company growth in what is a critical inflection point for Loft Labs. You will play a key role as an individual leader in the field and contribute internally to an organizational culture that deeply values transparency, performance, development, creativity, collaboration, and trust– But most importantly you will be the first technical sales hire that will set the standard and tone for what will be a fast paced and growing sales program. 

 Solutions Architect Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers, both onsite and remote, in a technical consultancy and advisor role during the pre-sales process while providing technical assistance and solution guidance.
  • In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue targets through the adoption of Loft Labs.
  • With comprehensive knowledge of the Loft Labs platform and associated technologies, educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of Loft Labs while participating in discussions throughout the organization to ensure successful Loft deployment.
  • Guide technical evaluations via POC/POV ownership, RFP/audit support, and workshop design.
  • Build deep relationships with people within customer environments to enable them to be advocates.
  • Serve as the customer advocate to other Loft Labs teams, including Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Continuously improve your professional skills with a focus on personal mastery and team learning through activities such as training, reading and seeking mentorship from others.
  • Maintain specialty competency in one or more technologies related to Loft Labs’ market focus through activities such as training, certification and creation of working examples for reuse internally and by customers and partners.
  • Create and maintain relationships with customer executives that contribute to large Net ARR deals and customer success
  • Collaborate with product marketing, engineering and management on market strategy that results in an improved win rate.

Solutions Architect Requirements

  • 2-5+ years in Technical Sales + Demo/POC experience.
  • Proficient to Deep Understanding of Kubernetes and the overall landscape/ecosystem.
  • Technical presentation and communication skills
  • Experience with cloud computing and related technologies and practices
  • Open Source proficiency and ability to demonstrate quick and adhoc savvy with Loft & Loft Labs’ OSS Projects vcluster & Devspace
  • Experience with technical pre-sales or as a professional in the field of information technology
  • Experience with modern development or engineering operations and their associated technologies
